The Bob Kirkland Trio was formed in 2013 when Bob decided to "take public" the jazz skills he'd been developing in the practice room the previous seven years. Typically including electric guitar and upright bass, the ensemble occasionally expands to a quartet with the addition of a drummer. The Trio plays straight ahead jazz from the 1940's and 50's and standards from the Great American Songbook. Recently some select pop, rock and blues tunes have been added. Some of the great musicians who have lent their talents to the Trio include Tyler Mansfield, Chris Wenger and Chris Loizeaux on guitar, Matt Christensen, Jack Lemley, Mark Springer and Nate Furgason on bass and Percy Furgason on drums.
